About CSG

The Charmer Sunbelt Group (CSG) is one of the nation's leading distributors of spirits, fine wines, beers and bottled water.

We are the critical link between the companies that produce alcoholic beverages and the retail outlets where they are sold, or the restaurants and pubs where they are consumed.

Getting these consumer products to market is the collective effort of more than 7,000 CSG associates in fifteen markets across the United States, where CSG has affiliated companies. These associates fill a variety of roles that together are responsible for helping to manage some of the most valuable and well known consumer brands in the world.

We are seeking motivated people to join our team in a variety of functions – from education and training to finance and marketing, and logistics and operations to delivery and customer service.

Opportunities to Grow

The US beverage alcohol industry is not only sizeable, but also solid. Distributors such as CSG employ nearly 60,000 people across the country and generate approximately $34 billion in sales to retail outlets each year.

While growth is an important element of business, our vision is to become the Distributor of Choice. CSG will accomplish this goal by providing our customers and suppliers with the best possible service. This will be achieved by continually upgrading the systems that provide a competitive advantage to our business partners.

Our exceptional sales and logistics teams provide valued product knowledge and timely sales support. State of the art warehousing management and delivery systems insure that our products are delivered accurately and in peak condition. This commitment to the beverage industry, combined with a strong focus on new technology and information exchange, enables us to achieve our goal of outstanding service.

Investing in You

What is unique to CSG is the enormous pride we take not only in hiring great minds, but also in cultivating them. Its one thing to hire an industry expert, but it is even a greater achievement to lead an associate through the education process, which brings together two of CSG’s most important mottos: Training is a process and our associates are our greatest asset.

Some of the courses available to you:

Beverage Essentials: An introduction to the world of wine and spirits — everything from growing grapes to describing the subtle differences of aging alcohol is explored by renowned certified wine and spirits instructors.

Techniques for On-Premise Professional Selling: Trains associates in sales techniques for accounts where beverages are consumed on-premise, such as in bars or restaurants.

Wine and Spirits Sales and Merchandising (WSSM): Participants in WSSM learn sales planning and organization, time management, effective sales presentation and handling trade objections.

Leadership Development: CSG also offers a growing selection of workshops to sharpen the skills of our current and future leaders. These interactive sessions include: Performance Management, Civil Treatment for Managers, Interviewing/Selection skills, Team Building, Building Partnerships, and more.

In addition, we also offer individualized feedback and assessment opportunities for our leaders through the use of the Myers-Briggs Personality Indicator, Learning Agility.

From the warehouse to the corporate headquarters, CSG is viewed by our employees as "a great place to work." We offer a pleasant work environment, competitive salaries and great benefits.

Eligible CSG employees are provided a wide range of benefits:

  • Adoption Assistance
  • Dental Insurance
  • Dependent Care
  • Reimbursement Account
  • Employee Assistance Program
  • Health Care Reimbursement
  • Account
  • Holidays
  • Jury Duty Leave
  • Life Insurance
  • Long-Term Disability

* Benefit plans vary in each state

Perhaps most importantly, CSG understands the importance of giving back, and we’ve made a serious commitment to the communities in which we operate. In fact, The Charmer Sunbelt Group companies collectively donate more than $5 million and countless hours to local and national charities each year.

At the heart of our organization is widespread commitment to responsible drinking, and we partner with our customers and suppliers as well as industry organizations and members of local and national legislatures to combat drunk driving and underage drinking. Our efforts on the local and national level help ensure that our product is used wisely and responsibly, not only because it’s good business, but because it’s the right thing to do.

Finally, in recognition that responsibility extends as much the way we do business as how our products are used, CSG’s Green Team facilitates the sharing of best practices throughout the organization to promote environmentally sound business initiatives, such as the testing of hybrid vehicles and paperless invoicing.

“Every distributor has trucks and warehouses, picking systems and computers, but what sets us apart is our people. The Charmer Sunbelt Group’s greatest asset is our people; it’s you who give us our competitive edge.”

Charles Merinoff, Chairman and CEO, The Charmer Sunbelt Group
