Associated Distributors, LLC, a member of The Charmer Sunbelt Group (CSG), announced its plans to acquire the assets of Virginia Distributing Company of Richmond, Virginia. The parties anticipate closing the transaction October 1, 2010, subject to customary conditions.

"This move further solidifies our presence in the dynamic Virginia market," said Greg Baird, CSG's Chief Operating Officer. "Virginia is a key market for CSG and we have long admired and respected the success of Virginia Distributing."

With this acquisition, CSG/Associated Distributors significantly expands its geographic footprint in Virginia, and will now provide service from Richmond and Norfolk/Virginia Beach in the east to Roanoke in the west. In addition to its physical expansion, this acquisition also enhances The Charmer Sunbelt Group's already strong relationships with key wine suppliers such as E&J Gallo, W.J. Deutsch & Sons, Treasury Wine Estates, Diageo Chateau and Estates and Banfi.
