Beverage Distributors Company (BDC) believes in the importance of giving back to the community in which we live, work and serve. BDC actively supports numerous community and civic organizations in Colorado. We support a diverse range of charities, including the Latin American Education Fund, the Hospice of Denver, Colorado Black Chamber of Commerce, and the Children’s Hospital Diabetes Foundation.
During Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October, BDC holds an event in which we raise funds by hosting a lunch and auctioning related merchandise. All proceeds from the fundraiser go directly to the Denver chapter of the Susan G. Komen Foundation. BDC also captains a team for the annual Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure. Three years ago, BDC’s team consisted of 20 associates and their family members and has since grown to over 60 this past year.
During the holiday season, BDC also actively supports the Denver Rescue Mission to support Denver’s homeless population. BDC donates money during the Thanksgiving and Christmas seasons to ensure the mission can provide dinners for the less fortunate. BDC also hosts a drive to collect blankets and coats to donate to the mission.
Also during the holiday season, BDC hosts a drive to collect new toys for the Children’s Hospital. The hospital uses the donated toys for the playrooms, treatment rooms and waiting rooms. The remaining toys are available to the parents so they can give their child a gift without having to leave the hospital during their child’s stay.
Twice a year, BDC encourages our associates to give blood through the Bonfils Blood Center bus that we arrange to be on-site. We stress the importance that giving blood can help up to three people in our community and is one of the easiest ways to volunteer.
We are proud to support these charities and we donate to other organizations throughout the year. With disasters such as the earthquakes in Haiti and Chile, BDC started immediate fund-raising campaigns to raise money to send to the American Red Cross. We encourage our associates to not only give monetarily, but recognize the importance of giving their time.
