El Jimador Tequila was honored this past March in Kentucky with a “Hot Brand” award from Impact Magazine, a leading source of sales data for the wines and spirits industry, for its more than 10-percent sales growth during each of the past three calendar years. 

“We are extremely proud to receive this award, which is a tribute to the dedication of our sales force in responsibly promoting this extraordinary 100-percent agave tequila,” said Mark Grindstaff, U.S. brand director for Casa Herradura Tequilas.

Brown-Forman, the parent company for el Jimador, recently reported the brand continues to thrive with double-digit depletion gains in the United States and internationally during the third quarter ending January 2011. Between May 2010 and January 2011, el Jimador grew depletions 20 percent in the United States and in the high single digits internationally.

“El Jimador is an exceptional brand within Casa Herradura’s tequila portfolio because of its quality and very reasonable price point,” Grindstaff said. “It is the No. 1-selling tequila in Mexico, a country known for its appreciation of quality tequilas. The “Hot Brand” Award is a recognition created by Impact editor and publisher M. Shanken Communications. Given annually to spirit and wine brands, qualifying companies must meet the magazine’s criteria that include a minimum of 200,000 nine-liter case depletions and, for brands that have existed since 2007 or earlier, a volume increase of at least 10 percent in each of the past three calendar years, or at least 15 percent in 2010.
