 Corporate Responsibility

The Charmer Sunbelt Group is widely known for its philanthropic activities.

Charles Merinoff, CSG's chairman and CEO, hosts the popular Wine and Wishes wine tasting and auction that benefits the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Metro New York. This annual event, now in its eighth year, has raised close to $4 million dollars to make dreams come true for many children with life-threatening medical conditions.

Charles Merinoff is a member of the board of directors of the Federal Law Enforcement Foundation, a position he has held since 1999. The foundation raises funds for men and women of law enforcement and their families, including the FBI, the U.S. Secret Service, the U.S. Marshals Service, Customs and Border Protection, Dept. of Homeland Security, and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives.

Charles Merinoff serves on the board of trustees and the advancement committee of the Culinary Institute of America. CSG has donated over $1,000,000 to the CIA, in support of its mission to provide the finest culinary education to its students.

Merinoff is also on the board of trustees of the North Shore-Long Island Jewish Health Systems and the executive committee of Lenox Hill Hospital. He has been honored over the years by the Boys Town of Italy, the Boy Scouts of America and the UJA-Federation of New York.

CSG is also a supporter of the Thurgood Marshall College Fund, which provides leadership development programs, merit-based scholarships and support to students attending the nation's historically black colleges and universities.

CSG has also contributed $500,000 to the New York Wine and Culinary Center. The center showcases New York food, wine and agriculture, and links those industries with the state's hospitality, tourism and educational resources.

Social Responsibility

The Charmer Sunbelt Group’s Community Relations department is dedicated to promoting the responsible consumption of beverage alcohol. The department creates and supports legislative and community initiatives that foster zero tolerance for underage drinking, binge drinking and drunk driving. Additionally, the Community Relations department joins with community leaders and others in public service campaigns that advocate responsible consumption.

CSG has collaborated with community groups on many local initiatives to combat underage drinking, binge drinking and driving while intoxicated.

CSG provided the education of on-premise licensees through alcohol awareness seminars and "server training," which teach responsible customer service to hospitality industry members.

Responsibility Trucks

To deliver the message of responsibility across the communities we serve, CSG dedicates a significant portion of its delivery fleet to this cause. In each of our markets, CSG trucks carry the messages “Make Responsibility a Family Matter” and “Support Zero Tolerance for Underage Drinking and Drunk Driving.”
