Capital Wine & Spirits Helps Pennsylvania's Hungry

On Tuesday, Nov. 22, 2011, for the fifth year, Capital Wine & Spirits, LLC, (CWS) partnered with the Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board (PLCB) to support the efforts of the Central Pennsylvania Food Bank’s Turkey Drive. CSW's donation of $10,000 will enable the food bank to purchase 650 turkeys to help make the holidays better for those in need across the state.

Joe Conti, CEO of the Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board, joined Mark Littles, president of Capital Wine & Spirits, to present the check to Kendall Hanna, executive director of the food bank.

It is very exciting that year after year more employees of CWS volunteer their time to this event. The food bank relies on volunteers to repack food that can then be sent to local food pantries, eldercare programs and soup kitchens. This year CWS was joined by employees of the PLCB and members of the local minor league baseball team, the Harrisburg Senators. Together they packed 1,200 boxes, which exceeds the number of boxes CWS had ever packed in past years.

The local FOX and ABC affiliates covered the event and helped CWS to urge others to support their local communities' food banks.
