NEW YORK, Feb. 21, 2011 -- The Charmer Sunbelt Group (CSG) announced today the election of Chief Executive Officer Charles Merinoff as chairman of the board of Sunbelt Holding Inc. Since assuming the role of CEO in 2002, Merinoff has led the growth of Sunbelt to become a successful enterprise conducting business in 14 markets and employing over 7,000 associates.

Under the guidance and mentorship of Charles’ father, the late Herman Merinoff, and Ray Herrmann, Charles created a strategic focus for the organization that enhances relationships with key supplier and customer partners, drives greater efficiency through technology and organizational effectiveness, and implements the long-term strategic course of CSG. The appointment of Mr. Merinoff as chairman acknowledges his continuing leadership and vision for The Charmer Sunbelt Group.

CSG also announced today the election of Raymond Herrmann, co-chairman and, subsequently, chairman of the company for 16 years, to the position of chairman emeritus. Herrmann will continue to actively serve the organization through his positions on the board of directors and executive committee, as well as through his daily involvement in the strategic direction of CSG.  

“As CEO, Charlie has done a superb job of strengthening our supplier relationships, upgrading our technical capabilities and optimizing our senior management team,” Herrmann said. “I am confident that Charlie will continue to successfully lead and shape the strategic direction of CSG.”
