James Smith

Chairman and CEO

 

With 30 years of experience in the beverage alcohol industry, James Smith served as president of Reliable Liquors, Inc., from 1983 to 2002, when he became Chairman and CEO of the newly-formed Reliable Churchill. Throughout his career, he has served on numerous committees, promoting the company and the industry. Among them, he has been on the Distributor Advisory Board for Schieffelin & Somerset (1988-1999) and the “Council of Young Executives” through WSWA (1990-1994). He currently serves as the President of the License Beverage Distributors of Maryland. He holds a B A from the University of North Carolina and a Masters degree from Johns Hopkins University.


Kevin DunnKevin Dunn

Kevin Dunn, with more than 25 years of experience in the beverage alcohol industry, was appointed President of Reliable Churchill and Washington Wholesale in October 2006. He also served as President of Washington Wholesale for three years, after having served as Vice President and General Sales Manager there. He holds a B S from the University of Maryland.


Robert Roettger

Executive Vice President, Chief Financial and Operations Officer

 

Robert Roettger began his industry career with Churchill in 1977 as a Sales Promotion Manager. After working with the Wine Spectrum of Coca Cola as a State Manager, then Taylor California Cellars as a Brand Manager and a National Sales Coordinator, he returned to Churchill in 1983 as a Wine Manager.  He then was promoted to the position of Vice President, Director of Wine in August 1989 until he assumed the role of Senior Vice President in 1997.  He now serves the company as Executive Vice President, Chief Financial and Operations Officer. He is a native of Baltimore and holds a BS in Mass Communications from Towson State University and an MBA from the University of Baltimore.

Richard Slaughter began his career with Churchill in April 1982 as a Sales Representative, and within three years, was promoted to the position of Field Sales Manager in the Premier Wine Division.  With his successful track record in the wine area, he was promoted to Sales Manager to the newly-created Fine Wine Division. Later he was promoted to the position of Director of Wine Sales and assumed the responsibility for the Key and Premier Wine Divisions just two years later. In 2001, he was promoted to the position of Vice President, Wines, and three years ago was promoted to his current position of Senior Vice President, General Sales Manager. He holds a BA from Towson State University.
 

Bruce Richardson

Bruce Richardson has held the position of Vice President, General Sales Manager since 2007, following 28 years with the company. He began with Churchill in 1979 as a Sales Representative for the Freestate Division, spent five years as a Field Manager in the Falcon Division and was then promoted to the position of Sales Manager of the Eagle Division. In April 1998, he became Sales Manager of the Hawk Division and within a year, was promoted to the position of Director of Sales, a position he occupied for eight years prior to becoming Vice President. He holds a BS in Marketing and Advertising from the University of Baltimore.
 

Steve Conroy

Vice President, General Sales Manager

 

Steve Conroy has been with Churchill for 19 years, beginning his career with the company as a Sales Representative in the Eagle Division. He was promoted to Field Sales Manager in the Eagle Division in 1996 and then later, transferred to the Hawk Division as a Field Sales Manager.  He was then promoted to Assistant Sales Manager in the Premier Wine Division and then again to Sales Manager of the Hawk Division.  He has held the position of General Sales Manager of the Diageo/Moet group for the past seven years.


Jeff Scarry

Jeff Scarry has been with Charmer Sunbelt Group for the past nine years, when he began as the On Premise Spirits Sales Manager at Washington Wholesale. He brought with him 13 years of industry experience. He was later promoted to Vice President, General Sales Manager of Reliable Churchill and Washington Wholesale. He has held his current position since June 2009. He holds a BS in Marketing from the Indiana University of Pennsylvania.

With experience in both consumer products marketing and the alcohol beverage industry, Demille Richardson joined Reliable Churchill in January 2005. She has worked on both established consumer brands such as Yoplait as well as new product development in the General Mills Snacks Division. She spent six months in a cross-functional assignment in the Sales Department working with Winn Dixie and Harris Teeter and moved to AV Imports in 2003 as Brand Manager for several of their Italian brands before joining Reliable Churchill and Washington Wholesale. She holds an undergraduate degree in International Business and Finance, and an MBA from the University of Michigan.

Mary Stack began her career with Churchill in 1985 as a Sales Representative in the Freestate Division, rapidly followed by promotions to Field Sales Manager in the Premier Wine Division and Eagle Division. In October 1990, she was promoted to Sales Promotion Manager and then to her present position in April 1997. She holds a BS from the University of Maryland at College Park.
 

 
Lawrence ZabriskieLawrence Zabriskie
Vice President, Director of Spirits and Beer 
 
Lawrence Zabriskie joined McKesson/Churchill as a Sales Representative, with eight years in retail wine/liquor sales. Within three years, he was promoted to Sales and Merchandising Coordinator, and then later that same year, advanced to the position of Sales Promotion and Merchandising Manager. In October 1990, he was promoted to Director of Marketing, and one year later, was named Vice President, Director of Marketing . He holds a BA in History from King’s College and a Master of Science in Business from the Johns Hopkins University.

Vice President, Director of Wines 
 
Tom Angel began his career with Churchill as a Sales Representative in the Hotel/Restaurant Spirits Division in September 1991. Within four years, he was promoted to Field Sales Manager of the Hotel Restaurant Wine Division. In 1998, he was promoted to the position of Sales Manager of the Quality On-Premise Division.  He holds a degree in Business and Economics from the University of Maryland, College Park.
 

Jay Milne
 
Jay Milne
Vice President, Finance 
 
Jay Milne joined Reliable Churchill in June 2006 as Vice President, Director of Finance. He has been with The Charmer Sunbelt Group since January 1998, where he began as the Assistant Controller of Washington Wholesale in Washington, D.C. In 1999 he was promoted to Controller, then four years later, to Vice President of Finance.  Prior to joining The Charmer Sunbelt Group, he worked in public accounting where he specialized in clients in the wholesale distribution industry. He is a CPA and holds a BS degree in Accounting and Finance from Mount St. Mary’s College in Emmitsburg, MD.
 

 
John HildJohn Hild

John Hild’s career in the alcohol beverage industry began in 1978 as a Distribution Specialist for McCarthy Hicks. When Reliable purchased McCarthy in 1986, he assumed the role of Traffic-Warehouse Manager and was promoted to Operations Manager in 1995. When Reliable and Churchill merged, he became the Manager of Operations and Administration and in 2004, was promoted to Director of Operations. In 2009, he assumed the position of Vice President, Director of Operations.

Vice President, Director of Human Resources
 
Jason Savage began his career with Reliable Churchill in 2004 as the Director of Human Resources. He was promoted to the position of Vice President, Director of Human Resources in January 2009. He holds a BS degree from the State University of New York, an MBA from New York Institute of Technology, an HR certificate from the Wharton School and holds his SPHR (Senior Professional of Human Resources) Certification.
