Public Service Announcements
Washington Wholesale developed a public service announcement on responsible drinking, narrated by baseball great Jorge Posada and his wife Laura. The spots aired in Spanish on the No. 1-rated Latino radio station covering the District of Columbia market.
Education: Getting the Message Out
In the district, Tailgaters Urging Responsibility and Fun (TURF) partnered with CSG, Washington Wholesale, Diageo, and the Washington Redskins Radio Network to create a public service announcement narrated by former Washington Redskins and four-time Pro Bowl player Ken Harvey. The PSA aired on radio and television (WRC-TV NBC 4) and appeared on the Jumbotron at Redskin games.
Breaking Barriers: Partnering With Our Community
CSG’s Vice President of Community Relations Brian Fischer sits on the board of directors of the Washington Regional Alcohol Program (WRAP), which supports many responsible drinking initiatives in Maryland, Virginia and the District of Columbia. These programs include “Sober Ride,” which provides complimentary taxi rides home to persons who may have overindulged, underage alcohol prevention programs in middle and high schools, and overtime pay to local police officers to enforce drunk-driving laws.
Hosting the Washington Elite
For the last four years, The Charmer Sunbelt Group and Washington Wholesale have participated in the White House Correspondents Dinner and After Party. CSG supports the White House Correspondents Association's “Annual Dinner” to honor the nation’s top journalists and also to provide scholarships for students who want to study journalism. After the dinner, The Charmer Sunbelt Group co-sponsors an “After Party” with Niche Media, an exclusive gathering where attendees include the journalists who cover the news, as well as newsmakers, political pundits and Hollywood’s “A” list.
