CDI Offers Wine Education to Country Club Set

March 2010 -- As most concepts evolve into a form not originally anticipated, this expo grew from a simple idea: CDI President Andrew Hillman thought the CDI sales team could easily provide fun, educational services for country club members. By offering variations of “Train the Trade,” CDI would add an enhancement to the “services” each club provides its membership.

In addition to wine and/or spirits tasting seminars, E&J Gallo offered the Country Club Caddy program, a collection of themes to promote wine business in an interesting, informal manner. These ideas combined with a portfolio tasting, highlighting CDI’s entire wine portfolio made for a productive entry into the new season.

Two country club locations were utilized to split up the state. In addition to country clubs, yacht clubs and other private operations were encouraged to attend.

The turnouts were impressive and the follow up has already generated new business. Encouraged by the success of both shows, CDI plans to build on this format and continue the program next year.
